Beef and Broccoli

A comforting and flavorful dish featuring tender beef and vibrant broccoli in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Beef Flank Steak, sliced
  • 2 cups Fresh Broccoli, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 2 Green Onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the ingredients: Gather all your ingredients and chop your broccoli into bite-sized pieces and thinly slice the flank steak against the grain.
  2. Marinate the beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and a tablespoon of cornstarch. Allow this to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Cook the broccoli: In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat and add the broccoli. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  4. Cook the beef: In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed, then add the marinated beef in a single layer. Sear for 2-3 minutes, then toss gently to cook through for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Mix in the aromatics: Toss in the minced garlic and ginger. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add the sauce: Pour in the remaining soy sauce and oyster sauce. Mix the cornstarch with cold water and stir this into the pan to thicken the sauce.
  7. Combine: Gently fold in the cooked broccoli, allowing it to warm through and absorb the flavors for a minute or two.
  8. Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions, and plate it up.

Notes

Serve over steamed rice or quinoa. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for added crunch.
