Cheddar Jalapeño Bread

A delightful bread combining creamy cheddar cheese and spicy jalapeños, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 and 1/2 cups Warm Water
  • 2 packets Active Dry Yeast (4 and 1/2 tsp)
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Diced Jalapeños
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the warm water and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Add the olive oil, salt, flour, shredded cheddar, and diced jalapeños into the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch the dough down, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Cover the loaf pan and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake the bread for about 30-35 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Let it cool completely before slicing.
