Classic Stuffed Peppers

A comforting dish featuring bell peppers stuffed with a savory meat and rice filling, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Bell Peppers (4 medium, any color)
  • Ground Meat (1 pound)
  • Cooked Rice (1 cup)
  • Onion (1 medium, chopped)
  • Garlic (3 cloves, minced)
  • Tomato Sauce (1 cup)
  • Cheddar Cheese (1 cup, shredded)
  • Italian Seasoning (1 teaspoon)
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the bell peppers by slicing the tops off and removing the seeds.
  3. Cook the filling in a skillet by sautéing the chopped onion until translucent.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  5. Mix in the ground meat, stirring until browned and cooked through.
  6. Combine cooked rice, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper with the meat.
  7. Stuff each pepper with the meat mixture.
  8. Top each pepper with cheese and replace the tops.
  9. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  10. Serve after resting for a few minutes.
