Puff Pastry Hot Dogs

A delightful combination of flaky pastry and juicy hot dogs, perfect for snacks or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet Frozen puff pastry (thawed and cut into 1″ strips lengthwise)
  • 9 Hot dogs (patted dry)
  • 1 Egg + 1 tbsp Water
  • 3 tbsp Everything bagel seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1 tbsp Dry mustard powder
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the puff pastry by rolling it out slightly and cutting it into 1-inch wide strips lengthwise.
  3. Wrap the hot dogs by starting at one end of a hot dog and spiraling the pastry around it, securing the end piece by pressing it gently.
  4. Whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash, and brush it over the tops of each wrapped hot dog.
  5. Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning generously over the pastry.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden.
  7. Prepare the dipping sauce by mixing the Dijon mustard, honey, dry mustard powder, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper, and salt until smooth.
  8. Cool the baked hot dogs on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving with the dipping sauce.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different dipping sauces or add cheese for a melty surprise!
