Hibiscus Strawberry Lemonade

A refreshing summer beverage that combines hibiscus tea, sweet strawberries, and zesty lemon juice for a delicious drink topped with mint.

  • 960 ml water
  • 4 dried hibiscus flowers
  • 150 g fresh strawberries
  • 120 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 6080 g honey (to taste)
  • 80 g ice
  • 2 lemon slices (for garnish)
  • 0.5 fresh strawberry (thinly sliced, for garnish)
  • Fresh mint sprigs (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil the hibiscus: In a medium saucepan, bring 960 ml of water to a boil. Drop in the 4 dried hibiscus flowers and steep for about 10 minutes.
  2. Strain and sweeten: Remove the hibiscus flowers using a fine-mesh strainer and stir in 60-80 g of honey while the tea is still warm.
  3. Blend strawberries and lemon juice: In a blender, combine 150 g of fresh strawberries and 120 ml of lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
  4. Combine everything: In a large pitcher, mix the hibiscus tea and the strawberry-lemon puree.
  5. Chill and serve: Add 80 g of ice right before serving and stir again.
  6. Garnish and enjoy: Pour into glasses and garnish with lemon slices, thinly sliced strawberry, and mint sprigs.

Notes

This lemonade can be served hot in colder months. Feel free to experiment with different sweeteners.
