Honey Garlic Potsticker Rice

A flavorful fusion dish combining potstickers and rice, drizzled with a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for family dinners.

  • 2 cups white or jasmine rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • Frozen potstickers
  • 1 tablespoon oil (sesame or any cooking oil)
  • Green onion for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse 2 cups of rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Add the rinsed rice to a pot with 4 cups of water and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from heat and let it sit for another 10 minutes, then fluff with a fork.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of honey and 3-4 minced garlic cloves.
  6. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  7. Add the frozen potstickers in a single layer and fry for about 3-4 minutes until golden.
  8. Flip the potstickers and add about 1/2 cup of water, then cover the skillet quickly.
  9. Let cook for about 5-7 minutes until water evaporates.
  10. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the potstickers and toss to coat.
  11. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  12. Scoop a portion of rice onto a plate and top with glazed potstickers. Garnish with green onion if desired.

Notes

This dish pairs well with steamed broccoli or snap peas. Add some chili sauce for a spicy kick!
