Honey Mustard Tofu Tenders

Crispy, zesty tofu tenders packed with the irresistible sweetness of honey and a kick of mustard. A comforting and satisfying dish that’s easy to make.

  • 1 block Extra-Firm Tofu
  • 1 cup Gluten-Free Breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Honey (or agave/maple syrup for vegan)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce or Tamari
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • Olive Oil or Cooking Spray

Instructions

  1. Press the Tofu: Drain and press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Honey Mustard Marinade: Combine honey, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, garlic powder, and paprika in a bowl.
  3. Slice the Tofu: Cut the pressed tofu into strips or ‘tenders’.
  4. Marinate the Tofu: Place tofu strips in the marinade for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
  5. Coat the Tofu: Dip marinated tofu in gluten-free breadcrumbs and place on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake It Up: Drizzle with olive oil and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Allow to cool slightly and serve with leftover honey mustard sauce for dipping.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add sriracha to the marinade. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
