Dragon Chicken

A fiery Indo-Chinese dish featuring succulent chicken pieces stir-fried in a spicy-sweet sauce, perfect for any gathering or cozy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g Chicken Breast
  • ½ cup Cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Chili Sauce
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced
  • 1 red Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 green Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 2 Spring Onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • Black Pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine the diced chicken breast with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and a pinch of black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Coat it up: Add the cornstarch to the chicken and mix until each piece is well coated.
  3. Fry away: Heat 2-3 tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces in batches until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Toss in the veggies: Remove the chicken and stir-fry the sliced bell peppers for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Bring it all together: Add the chicken back to the pan and pour the chili sauce over the mixture, stirring to combine, cooking for another minute.
  6. Final touches: Drizzle sesame oil over everything, stir, and toss in the chopped spring onions.
  7. Serve hot: Serve your Dragon Chicken in a bowl or on a plate, garnished as desired.

Notes

For extra crunch, double coat the chicken by dipping it twice in cornstarch. Enjoy with rice or as a noodle bowl.
