Crispy Garlic Rice Cakes

Delightful crispy garlic rice cakes that are easy to make and perfect for any meal. A nostalgic dish inspired by family traditions.

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by heating a skillet over medium heat and melting the butter.
  2. Once the butter is bubbly and golden, toss in your minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine your cooked rice, sautéed garlic and butter, grated Parmesan, along with salt and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Grab a handful of the rice mixture and shape it into a patty, about 1-inch thick.
  5. Wipe your skillet clean if desired and return it to medium heat. Add a tablespoon of butter or oil.
  6. Once heated, carefully place your rice cakes in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Transfer the cooked rice cakes to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil and serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm with a dipping sauce or a side salad. Feel free to get creative with additional ingredients.
