Grinder Sandwich Casserole

A comforting and nostalgic casserole that combines all the flavors of a classic grinder sandwich into one easy dish.

Ingredients

  • Deli Meats (such as salami, ham, pepperoni, and turkey)
  • Provolone Cheese
  • Bread (ciabatta, hoagie rolls, or French bread)
  • Pepperoncini Peppers
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Salt and Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the bread by chopping it into 1-inch cubes and placing it into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Assemble your selected deli meats over the bread cubes.
  4. Add in the shredded provolone cheese and sliced pepperoncini.
  5. Whisk together the eggs, milk, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread, meat, and cheese combination in the mixing bowl.
  7. Mix everything together carefully and transfer to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  8. Bake for about 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the casserole is set.
  9. Cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For a spicier version, add banana peppers or jalapeños; for a vegetarian option, substitute deli meats with roasted vegetables.
