Hot Maple Chicken Bowls

A delicious explosion of flavors combining sweet maple and spicy chili sauce over tender chicken, served on a bed of fluffy rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g Chicken Breast (boneless and skinless)
  • 1 cup Rice (any variety)
  • ½ cup Maple Chili Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • Salt & Pepper (to taste)
  • Optional Toppings: Fresh Cilantro, Green Onions, Lime Wedges

Instructions

  1. Cook the Rice: Rinse rice under cold water until clear. In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil, add rice, and salt. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Fluff with a fork when done.
  2. Prepare the Chicken: Pat chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Sear the Chicken: In a skillet over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil. Once hot, add chicken breasts; cook 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. Glaze with Sauce: Pour maple chili sauce over cooked chicken, flipping to coat. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until sauce thickens.
  5. Rest and Slice: Remove chicken, let rest for a few minutes, then slice into bite-sized pieces.
  6. Assemble the Bowls: Start with rice, add glazed chicken, drizzle extra sauce, and top with cilantro, green onions, and lime wedges.

Notes

To make it vegetarian, substitute chicken with tofu or chickpeas. Experiment with different sauces for unique flavors.
