Smash Burger Biscuit Pie

A delightful twist on comfort food, combining flaky biscuits and juicy smash burgers, perfect for busy weeknights or spontaneous get-togethers.

  • 2 cans of biscuits (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20)
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (sharp or mild)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, diced (optional)
  • Pickles, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the biscuits according to package instructions or roll out homemade dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
  3. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes, adding salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Add half of the cheddar cheese to the cooked beef and mix until melted.
  5. Assemble in a greased 9-inch pie dish, layering the biscuit dough as the crust.
  6. Pour the beef mixture into the crust and cover with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  7. Fold the overhanging biscuit dough over the top, creating a rustic edge.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Cool for a few minutes before slicing and serve with pickles or condiments.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese and add spices to the beef for extra flavor.
