The Ultimate Mac and Cheese Casserole

A cozy and creamy mac and cheese casserole that brings comfort and warmth to any gathering.

  • 16 oz elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente, about 7–8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. Make the cheese sauce by melting butter in a saucepan, then whisk in flour to create a roux. Cook for about 2 minutes and slowly whisk in milk until thickened.
  4. Add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese, stirring until melted and creamy.
  5. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, mixing until well coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and press down gently.
  7. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Serve and enjoy after letting it sit for 5 minutes.
