Dump-and-Bake Italian Sausage Pasta

A hearty, flavorful one-pot Italian dish that practically cooks itself, perfect for busy days.

  • 2 lbs Italian sausage, sliced
  • 12 oz penne
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare a large baking dish by lightly greasing it with cooking spray or olive oil.
  3. Dump in the sliced Italian sausage, arranging it evenly at the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Add the uncooked penne pasta over the sausage.
  5. Pour the marinara sauce over the pasta and sausage, ensuring even coverage.
  6. Add the chicken broth over the top.
  7. Season with Italian seasoning, mixing if desired.
  8. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake covered with foil for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  10. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Add fresh basil or parsley for garnish. Pair with a green salad and crusty bread for a complete meal.
