Maple Mustard Chicken

A quick and flavorful dish combining sweet maple syrup and tangy mustard, perfect for a cozy evening.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Chicken Breasts or Thighs
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • Fresh Rosemary or Thyme (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic. Whisk until well-blended and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Preheat Your Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Season the Chicken: Generously season the chicken breasts or thighs with salt and pepper.
  4. Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for about 5-6 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Add the Marinade: Pour the maple-mustard mixture over the chicken, ensuring an even coating.
  6. Bake It Up: Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Broil for a Finish: Switch to broil for the last 3-5 minutes to caramelize the marinade.
  8. Serve and Delight: Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
