One-Pot Creamy Spicy Cajun Sausage Pasta

A comforting and flavorful one-pot pasta dish with creamy Cajun spices and spicy sausage.

  • 12 ounces Pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 1 pound Spicy Italian Sausage (or regular/ chicken sausage)
  • 1 medium Onion (diced)
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun Seasoning
  • 4 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese (grated)
  • 1 medium Bell Pepper (diced)
  • Green Onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brown the sausage in a large pot with olive oil over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  2. Sauté the diced onion and bell pepper for 3-4 minutes until softened, then add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  3. Add the Cajun seasoning and stir for about a minute until fragrant.
  4. Incorporate the uncooked pasta and chicken broth, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
  5. Simmer covered for 10-12 minutes, stirring halfway, until the pasta is al dente.
  6. Finish by stirring in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more spices or cream if desired.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
