Slow Cooker Bloomin’ Baked Apples

Tender, spiced apples that bloom beautifully in the slow cooker, evoking warm memories and delicious flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granola
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1/2 cup apple juice or cider
  • Vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash your apples thoroughly under cold water. Carefully core each apple, leaving the bottom intact.
  2. Combine the brown sugar, granola, cinnamon, and optional raisins in a mixing bowl.
  3. Stuff each apple generously with your granola mixture.
  4. Pour the apple juice or cider into your slow cooker and arrange the stuffed apples upright.
  5. Cover your slow cooker and set it on low for about 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Serve each baked apple on a plate, spooning some of the sauce over the top and adding ice cream if desired.

Notes

For a different flavor, try adding orange juice to the stuffing or using maple syrup instead of brown sugar.
