Vegan Applesauce Cake

A tender, moist Vegan Applesauce Cake that’s bursting with flavor and perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 ½ cups unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Whisk the applesauce, brown sugar, and vegetable oil in a large mixing bowl until well-combined.
  4. Mix the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and level it off.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a delightful drizzle, mix powdered sugar with almond milk and pour over the cooled cake.
